Jessicas Ghost were formed back in 2005 when singer songwriter Em decided to embark on a new musical project. Moxy was first on board, and soon they were joined by a host of talented individuals on instruments ranging from accordion to upright bass. Over the next few years, musicians came and left but still the band honed their writing and live performance skills, gigging at venues throughout the UK, recording their first studio album, and even a big festival appearance in Poland - Wiosna nad Nysą during the summer of 2009. Fast forward to 2011 and the lineup consists of Em (acoustic guitar / lead vocal), Moxy (bass / vocals), Christoph (violin / vocals), Craig (keyboards), R-Chris (electric guitar / vocals) and Dave (drums / vocals).
With increasingly high profile gigs under their collective belt, their second studio album due for release later this year, and critical acclaim in the music press, the sound of Jessicas Ghost has been variously described as 'folk-tinged indie rock', 'folk rock', 'alternative', 'indie'... but whatever you call it, the high levels of musicianship and energy in the performances that have become their trademark, along with excellent songwriting really do make Jessicas Ghost a must see band!
